Classical Academy was founded in 1998 with a clear purpose: to give middle school students in Clifton, NJ, a rigorous academic foundation in a small, supportive environment. As a public charter school, we opened our doors to families seeking something different from a conventional middle school experience, and that commitment has guided us ever since.
Over the years, Classical Academy has built a record that speaks for itself. We have been recognized as a Charter School to Watch and named by Educational Insider for our strong academic outcomes. Today, approximately 50 percent of our graduates go on to attend competitive private high schools or the Passaic County Magnet School, a testament to the preparation our students receive here.
We serve grades 5 through 8 with an enrollment of 180 students, keeping classes intentionally small at around 14 students per teacher. Every student who walks through our doors is treated as a scholar who belongs, and every staff member is dedicated to making that belief a daily reality.
